Jeffrey Place Installation Photos

As promised, here are images of my work at The Lofts at Jeffrey Place in Columbus, OH (the top two images). So cool to see the large work in a context where the scale is perfect.

Commercial Installation? Corporate Acquisition?

I don’t know what to call it, but I’m very happy about it! Jeff and his excellent team of consultants at Terra Gallery have placed some of my paintings in The Lofts at Jeffrey Place. Check it out! Two pieces were installed earlier this week, and I hope to have photos of the actual installation soon.

Opening Reception at Terra Gallery

Columbus, Ohio’s “gallery hop” on the first Saturday of the month is quite an event – at least that was certainly the case on July 5th – the weather was perfect and folks were out and about all through the evening. Consequently, we had a very encouraging turn out at the opening reception of my show at the Terra Gallery. The work looked great, we sold two of the new pieces, and I met many interesting folks, so it was quite a successful evening. Many thanks to Jeff and his staff at Terra for all their hard work; to Ken, Todd and Sherry for their presence and support; and to everyone who visited the show.

Bill Mayr’s article in the Columbus Dispatch profiles gallery owner Jeff Hersey, and also includes some images of my work – you can see pieces from the Pilgrimage Year series behind Jeff in the photo of him in the gallery, and there’s also image of Meet in the Middle (curiously in black & white).

July Show at Terra Gallery

I’ve been hard at work in the studio preparing new pieces for a solo show at Terra Gallery in Columbus, OH. Check out the announcement on their web site: Terra Gallery – Exhibitions. You can also see a few new pieces on my page in the Artist section of the site. More images of new work will be on my web site soon.

Tiffin University Exhibit

Despite an untimely ice storm, I was able to deliver my paintings safely to Tiffin University, including 6 new pieces to premier at this show. My friend Todd and a group of student gallery workers helped hang the show, and it looks great in the spacious and well-lit Diane Kidd Gallery.

The opening reception, held Thursday, March 6, 7-8pm, was well-attended and quite festive. Here’s a big “Thank you!” to everyone who stopped by. Follow these links to read MaryAnn Kromer’s article in the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune and to see their photos of the reception.

A blizzard dropped 12″ of snow on Tiffin Saturday, but it was no great hardship to be snowed in with good friends Todd & Sherry. It was actually fun to see that much snow – probably haven’t since moving from Illinois years ago. Would’ve been even more fun if I’d remembered my boots and could’ve tromped around in it!

Even so, it was good to get home to warm and blooming Fuquay-Varina. Now it’s back to the studio to begin some more paintings.

I plan to blog more regularly in the coming months – once a week is the goal for now – so check back soon!

Salon Photos

On September 8, my sister-in-law, Laura Morefield, hosted an art salon for me in their lovely home in Laguna Niguel, CA. It was quite an enjoyable event, and the paintings looked fabulous in this setting. See for yourself!
